Serving God for 185 years!

The Christian Church at Honey Creek was organized in 1839 at the home of Elijah Priest under the direction of Rev J Kirby. The original members were John and Catherine Priest, Andrew & Nancy Clark, Mary Clark, John & Elizabeth Richardson, and L & Sarah Davis. In 1840 a log house was built on the corner of L. Davis’ land. In 1852 a one story frame building was erected at the cost of about $1000 at its present location. William Leffel made a donation of one acre of land so his son, John Leffel could be buried in the church cemetery.  John was the first to be buried here on Sept 27, 1852.

The cemetery is no longer in full-time use, The last burial was of Elmer Mumford who died January 10, 1951.

Creed written January 20, 1839

We, who here sign our names this day constitute ourselves into a church called the Church of Christ or Christian Church at Honey Creek in Clark County, Ohio in order to attend to the ordinances and privileges of the Lord’s house, taking the scripture of the Old and New Testaments for the rule of our faith and practice to watch over each other in love submitting ourselves to each other in the Lord.

Meet our Pastor any Sunday at 1030.

Pastor Paul has been serving our Lord for over 57 years. He is filled with the Spirit. He preaches directly from the King James Bible. He tells it like it is; he tells you what you need to know; he tells you what you need to hear. He does not tell you what you want hear.  He does not change the Bible for you. He loves everyone and wants us all to meet again in Heaven. He can teach you how to ask for forgiveness as we all need.  He can show you the way to be saved. He has been blessed by our God to give the message in an inspiring, up lifting and easy to understand way. God is with us all, you just need to answer the knock at the door if you haven’t already.
